Article: How did I get here . . .
I really am just trying to be the best person I can be. I want to inspire my daughter to live her best life, to be kind to herself and those around her, and to be ‘aware’ and ‘awake’ and truly appreciate and understand the eco beauty of being alive and actually LIVING.
I want to help other mothers and nature loving individuals make smarter choices, realise that ‘eco’ can also be beautiful and stylish and what they do in their daily lives does make an impact. Being empowered to make conscious choices and experiencing amazing nutrition and environmental living ( not just surviving!) with more of a connection to the planet and to those around us.
Starting out an eco-friendly product / planet-kind business as a 40+ (ok closer to 50 - full disclosure here! ) as a single Mum is a daunting challenge. An adventure - yes, a huge learning curve - absolutely, but hugely satisfying - hell yeah!. Sometimes it feels like a massive mountain to climb, multi tasking has never been such an appropriate word and ‘ follow your dream’ is something that I repeat quietly in my head like my daily self support mantra.
But… doing something you love is the dream of everyone and I know that with my eco products you too can be taking steps to minimalist living a more harmonious and kinder life.
From city to country, from San Francisco to then over a decade spent in Tuscany I have always had the desire to explore and learn, to contribute how I could and to connect with others in a more meaningful way. I was born with entrepreneurial DNA and now as a mother all I want is the best for my daughter. The quality of her future is something that I contemplate everyday. I am showing her how we can live better with less, have more meaningful connections and enjoy a stronger community with solid values.
An enthusiast of ‘the old ways’, I am passionate about the environment and reducing our impact on the planet through smarter choices, less waste and conscious consumption. I remember my great grandmother washing her plastic bags, nothing was ever wasted, she had a small veggie garden, baked everything, used hankies and loved walking.
I am very aware of the sometimes-toxic environment we live in and a lot of that comes from the air pollution, what we ingest through food and what we put on our skin. Plastics are horrific both for our health, for the environmental living and our beautiful oceans. Everyone can make changes on a grass roots level, small changes by lots of people can have a huge impact and I really hope to inspire others with my ‘Us and the Earth’ products.
